A Pilsner made to showcase two hops - Nelson Sauvin and Zappa. Nelson is a New Zealand grown hop that has been around for a while and is loved (or hated) for its distinct flavor - combination of sauvignon blanc wine and diesel fuel. These sulphur based flavors are divisive, but prized by those who love them. Zappa, a new Neo-Mexicanus hop (Native to North America) has similar sulphurous flavor components to Nelson, and we thought they would taste great together. Lager yeasts make more sulphur than warmer ale fermentations, so it was a clear fit for a Pilsner. Unlike traditional Pilsners, this beer was also dry-hopped to really showcase all aspects of the hops.
